Background

StartupGym is a Venture Studio based in Milan, Italy. We fund and invest in Startups, working on new ideas and new business models every day. We don't want to reinvent the wheel, we innovate in the simplest way possible: taking a cue from what already works in more developed countries, such as the USA. Once we find a suitable idea for the European market, we run a test with an MVP, we create a vertical team, and we appoint an industry expert CEO to the company. Our job consists of validating the market, acquiring the first customers, scaling the business, raising capital, and growing the team. At StartupGym we want to become an important innovation hub, engaging the best talents and their skills. We aim to become one of the most important Venture Studios in Europe, creating companies that will leave their mark in the world.

Job description

We are looking for several Launchers to work alongside our team of builders and Founders in Residence during the MVP, testing and prototyping, design, validation, and scaling phases of our next new venture. For the next months, you’ll be regularly working directly with our general partners and extended team to co-found a company.

The Launcher Program is the core team of StartupGym. You will join our team of amazingly focused and talented professionals that take ideas from 0 to 1. Each launcher plays the vital three-part role of 

• Validating MVPs: building, pivoting, failing until we create a new Startup
• Generating meaningful traction as soon as the project is in the market
• Supporting StartupGym and Founders in Residence in hiring the founding team

Once a company is off the ground, launchers have the opportunity to stay on as a first employee of the newborn Venture towards a future leadership role as the Startup scales, or to come back to the core StartupGym Studio team. 

As a Launcher you will have to: 

• Help us build new companies by supporting our Founders in Residence, who have more than 6 years of experience and are typically industry experts
• Leverage your versatility to transform a 10-slide pitch deck into a viable business model, by working on several tasks simultaneously
• Be part of a high potential team working towards reaching product-market fit through the process of experimentation and learning

What are we looking for?

• 2+ years of work experience and you’re probably not a traditional “big company” person
• Experience in core functional roles in high-growth startup environments
• Entrepreneurial instincts: risk-taker, proactive and hands-on
• You are insanely driven and you are no stranger to ambiguity, you thrive in it
• You love challenges and solving problems, you find workarounds when it seems there is no way to make things work. You are tenacious.
• Fluent in English, with leadership skills and social influence
